Trash and Recycling Information

UW-Madison uses a multi-stream waste and recycling program. That means we are all responsible for sorting trash and recyclable items into the correct bins.

UW-SoE RecyclingGuide 2014-12-09

SoE Building Services created a recycling guide to be used by departments and units. Please use it as needed in your area.

Trash and Recycling Quiz (Online)

This online quiz is an educational tool that provides information on how certain items can be recycled on campus. The quiz was originally developed by Kris Ackerbauer at FP&M and was adapted for web use by SoE Building Services.

Trash and Recycling Tags

Use these cutout tags for items, or collections of items, that do not fit in the standard trash or recycling bins. Make sure these items are clearly labeled with these tags - custodial staff will not collect items outside of bins without tags attached.
